Wedding at St. Mary's.
At St. Mary's Church, Now Plymouth, on Tuesday morning a quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised between Dr E. F. Fookes, son of Mr A\ C. Fookcs.an old resident of the district, and Miss Winifred L. Cupel, •second daughter of the lute Captain Cajtel. The decorations at the church in connection with Sunday's ! Harvest Festival services were left | intact for the ceremony, at which i there wan a good gathering of friends 'and relatives. The service was read |by the Rev. F. G. Evans-, who was .assisted by the Hev. Mr Devenish, a cousin of the bridegroom. The bride, who was given away by her cousin, Air Edward Humphries, wore 1 a dainty and recherche dress of white silk, delicately trimmed with rich lace, together with u tulle veil and orange blossoms, and she carried nn artistically arranged shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were the Misses -Vena and Maud Cupel (sisters of the bridegroom), who were attired in elegant white silk dresses, trimmed with dainty lace. They wore neat blacß hats trimmed with white tulle and carried bouquets o/. gullardias and civu.ni daisies, with orange ribbon attached. Dr NVylie officiated as best m a n. After the nuptial ceremony a reception attended by relatives and a few friends was held at t-ho residence of the bride's mother. Die wedding gifts were numerous, valuable, ami serviceable. The bridegroom presented the bride with a diamond ring, and the bridesnuiids with 3 2 pendant;. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a pearl pill. Dr und Mrs Fookes loft by the afternoon train for the south/ mid the honeymoon will be spent in and around Wungauui.
