In conncct'ion with the decision of the Medical Conference to form a medical] naval reserve the registrar of the University has received a lot|ter from Admiral Fanshawe urging the desirableness t$ forming- such a reserve. The purpose of the reserve is to provide m'en to serve as naval surgeons afloat in the event of hostilities arising. The Admiral points out that in an emergency involving the safety of the Australian Stales oral New Zealand there would be such a strain on the regular "naval medical service thaa sonie such reserve is urgently required.
