REPULSE OF THE RUSSIANS.
Kl ROPATKIN ADMITS A REVERSE. REPORTED JAPANESE REVERSE Japanese ollicial reports state that the Russians in the direction of Singkin attempted several counter attacks but that all were repulsed. The engagements now proceeding at Fensihu and Shaho are, developing favourably. A quantity o; provisions and forago was captured at Sinminting. General Kuropatkin admits that the Japajnesc carried the entrenchments in front of Kaotuling and the heights of the centre position on the left flank, but says that a counter attack dislodged the Japanese. A later report states that the comat Jinmtlun, in the KandjoHsan region, reportb that 20 Japanese battalions attacking the left flank were repulsed, leaving masses of dead. Three attacks at Kaotuling were re pulsed after the Japanese had got within two hundred paces of the trenches.
