The Commonwealth Premier.
A FAIR, SQUARE, HONEST FIGHT WITH SOCIALISM. (Beceived March- 6, 1.8 ,a.m.) SYDNEY, March 5. Mr Rent, Premier .of the _ Commonwealth, interviewed, said he considered that the people of Australia at the present moment are in a position of grave political danger. "There are," said Ihe Premier, "vast organisations full of enthusiasm and composed of individuals sin-gle-minded in their political actions, who don't fight amongst themselves over even financial questions, and who are bent upon overthrowing as soon as possible all the foundations upon which our industrial system, and, I believe, our national, proBperrty, is based. My grave duty is to prevent Australia going down to the depths of Socialistic chaos. I look upon the matter as of vast and pressing consequence, not only for the people to-day, but for people of all time. lam determined to devote the best of my remaining faculties and energies to a fair, square, honest fight with this great organisation."
