COLONEL PORTER S REPLY TO THE PREMIER. (Per Preai Association.) t AUCKLAND, March 1. The Premier has received the following nepty from Colonel Porter in answer to the message sent to the latter by Mr Seddon in respect to his i Md regarding the incident in South statement to the Poverty Bay HerAfrica which led up to tlw recent Seddoo-Tai'lor case. Colonel Porter wired from Tokomara Bay. East ' Coast, hia message being as follows —"Your telegram re interview, rer ad dressed here, received. I accept rebuke, but trust you will reserve judgment till the interview is read by me. I am not responsible for Press telegrams. I accept responsibility of interview entirely in the interests of in.v regiment, and as officer commanding, and should deplore | railing complications. (Signed) j Colonel Porter.
