ItOWLEY'S WAXWORKS. A good audience greeted Itowley's Waxworks and London Company at the Theatre Uoyul Inst night, and the various "turns,:' which liuike up a capital evening's cntertainncm, were most appreciatively received. From the opening- item to the close of the programme there wns not a dull interlude, the public verdict oil Mr Itowley's talenlud combination being very commendatory, l'rofessor Borland's wonderful electrical apparatus excited a (food deal of interest und astonishment, and this portion of the show will certainly not fail as a great attraction to the public. Th« antics of the living marionettes and tho shadowgraph display, in both of which there i« a good deal of clever "business," made a decided hit. Mr Ward Lour, n noted mimic and comedian, was particularly successful, especially in his laughable imitation of a Chinaman robbing a hen-roost, and Miss Ada How ley, contralto, at onco established herself as a favourite by her rendition of ;'Day by Day " ami "Little Hoy in Bluo." Dante takes high rank as » magician and conjuror, and succeeded in considerably mystifying his audience. Mr Warsaw's baritone songs evoked hearty a|>plause. The waxworks figures and a cosmoranm of cities and scenes from the llusso-Japanese war complete a creditable show, which may lie strongly recommended to the public. The company will show agall to-night in a complete change of programme, and the management announce a singing competition for boys, the winner to be presented with a watch.
