The Sugar Convention.
(Received Feb. 88, 9-33 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 28. Mr 11. E. Kearley, Liberal member <for Devoiiport, moved an amendment iavoming early denunciation of the Sugar Convention. Mr Chamberlain defended the convention, and said the Opposition was only trying to make political capital out of a subject absolutely irrelevant to the ii»cal controversy. The convention was really an obstacle to his giving a moderate preference to .stimulate the production of colonial sugar. He hoped this would be altered when the convention was revised. The debate was adjourned.
