The following is taken from the Auckland Weekly News of the 18th February, 1904 : Settler, near Inglewood, Taranaki, writes : " In an issue of the News a little while back I noticed inquiries about sick pigs, and thought I would lake the liberty f giving you my experience, which you can pass on to your readers if you choose. In the* early spring 1 bad five young pigs, sev suffering from what appeared to be severe colds. Their heads were swollen, their mouths open and their breathing thick and whistling. I had by me a packet of Sykes's Drench, which I regularly use for cows at cahing time. 1 made a pailful of •arm oatmeal gruel, put into it three large cupfuls of sugar, and half u packet of the Drench, and a good spoonful of dripping to make it rather greasy. This I fed them at six in the evening, and afterwards shut them in with a warm straw bed. In he morning they were considerably ctter, and the following day all right; in fact, they have done well ever sine*. I generally get Sykes's ; Irench at the store, but it is manufactured at New Plymouth."-
