AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. MELBOURNE, Feb. 25. At' the Championship meeting the hammer throwing was won by Hurry of Melbourne, with 87ft 7in.' The pole vault was won by Pattison, of Bendigo, wjtb 9ft Gin; and the broad jump by Mueller, with 21ft iin. Widmer won the 440 - yards championship in 53sec. SHRUBB AN"D DUFFY IN FORM. MELBOURNE, Feb. 26. At the athletic championshjp meeting tho visitors showed greatly improved form. For the. mile race Sfa-uttj led all the way, beating Blake, easily by 20 yards in Imin 29Jscc. In the four miles handicap the results were :—Shrub (scratch) 1, Blake (180 yds) 2. Won by 200 yards in 20min 43 3-ssec.; In the 100 yards handicap,, Duffcy (scratch) 1, Widnier, Sydney (>jxl) 2, Mueller, Victoria (Iyd) :■}. Won by two inches, with Mueller a few inches away. Time, 10 1-lOsec.
