w (Received Feb. 23, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 23. For the third section, Gundagai to Albury, 121 miles, the weather and roads were good, but a high wind dead ahead considerably retarded the competitors. Gard and James arrived togeher first. The former's riding time was 6br 16 mill, and James' 6hr I9min. S|tevcns next covered the distance in shr 23scc. He was absolutely the last of the competitors to leave. J. W. Moffatt's (Victoria) nine horse-power car did the journey in shr 28min. On level ground some of Ihe cars made 48 miles an hour. Several, including the official car, which came to grief yesterday, and were patched up again, broke down, I but there were no serious accidents. !
