Students on Strike.
REVOLUTIONARY SPEECHES DELIVERED. The Czars Portrait Trampled on. Professors Also Strike. (Received Feb. 21. 10.29 p.m.) St. PETERSBURG, Feb. 21. Students have been allowed to meet at St. Petersburg University to consider the resumption of studies. The hall was crowded, and there were violent speeches denouncing the massacres. Banners were displayed inscribed "Death to o\i£_executioners." The Czar's life-sized portrait was snatched from the wall and torn and trampled on. It was resolved to continue the strike. Resolutions demanding a constitution.were carried. Several speakers predicted the speedy downfall of the autocracy, and welcomed the workmen as allies in the cause of freedom. The meeting also recommended the establishment of a national militia as a guarantee against Government excesses. Two professors have joined in the strike.
