The Daily Telegraph states that, the shock to the Czar when he learned the news was crushing. On recovering he exclaimed, "How is it possible ? Everything was so quiet, the strikes were ceasing, and the excitement was subsiding ! Whatever do they want ?"• News has been received here that Russia generally views the tragedy either with indilTerence or with expressions of sympathy for thv revolutionists.
