A British Appeal Case.

AN IMPORTANT DECISION. (Received Feb. 19, 4.41 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 18. The Lords have dismissed the F.ldcrslic Steamship Company's appeal against the Appeal Court's reversal of Mr Justice Walton's decision of March 9th, 1903, in which lie found (or llorthwick, who claimed for damage to meats carried by the steamer Nairnshire. Lord Halsbury held that the shipowners' exemption from liability under the refrigerator bill of lading was qualified by the words' "if reasonable means have, been .taken to provide against defects." Lords JlacNaughton and Lindlvy concurred.
