RIGHT OP POLICY-HOLDERS TO VOTE. (Received Feb.' 19, 4.41 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 19. The secretary of -the Sydney branch of the Equitable Assurance Society of New YotW has received advice that a resolution 1 ! has been passed that policy-holders bo given the right to vote for directors. Steps are being taken to give the proposal immediate effect. There is no word that the change has been' brought about through the reason recently given by cable. Hyde, the only son of the founder, is a man of considerable wealth. His financial connection with ■the society can only extend to his salary as an officer. As only seven per cent, of his holding is in the nominal capital of the 'society, it is absurd to say that the constitutional change is due to his personal extravagance.
