North Island Band Contest.

Wanganni Wins Marching and Championship. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 18. This afternoon the North Island llrass Hand Contest was brought to a close at the Domain cricket ground, when eleven bands competed in a milßaryi marching contest. There was' an attendance of about 20,000, and the weather was line, though over-clouded.

| On the paints being declared it ..was found that the marching contest had been won by Wnnganui (Jarrison Hand. The championship was ulso annexed by Wnnganui, who, with the musical points in the march added, can.e out with a total aggregate of 385 as rfgainst a total of 368 gained by Wellington. Kuikorai was third in aggregates, with 352 3-3 (runnels up).

I At the close of the marching a Brum competition was held, and this was won by .1. Smith and .]. 1 11. Osborne, of the Kaikorai Hand. .Following are the detailed results of the marching contest :
