Fat Cattle.—Although the entry was small, consisting of only 152 gvfcead and mostly steers of prime .quality, 'there was an extremely dull and prices showed a further de-p-dino. Steers sold at up to 20s per «tloolb, while cows went as low as i/ 158. Per head steers sold at £<j ?! * 3s -is £9 l"s Gd, heifers £5 7s 6d t; to £7 2s 6d, cows £5 5s to £6 7s ■£:6 d. V F at Calves.—A fair entry realised t recent values, selling at 7s 6d to : 40s a head.

Sales fe were effected at the following prices : r : Tearlinga 22s to 26s 15 to 18 mths (jp4Bs to 52s 6d, two-year-old steers £3 10s to £3 17s 6d, two-year-old £ heifers £2 17s 6d, three-year-old T Steers passed at £4 2s 6d, dry cows ! . £1 10s to £2 19s. , Dairy Cows.—A few good milkers i wre well competed for, and the high figuro for recent times of £9 5s was :i. make ■ old and inferior cows could scarcely be given away. S Sheep.—There was a small en- ,■ try, and a very firm market for all = descriptions. Prices were as follows :.j —Hethers 20s to 23s 4d, ewes prime 19s to 225, others 15s to 18s 6d. fat Lambs.—The entry as a whole k was of good quality, and both but- . chers and exporters competed freely, i previous rates being fully inaintained. Freezers sold at 16s 3d to 18s , .Sd, butchers' lots at 15s to 20s 4d. Of the entry of about 3000 about 2600 were taken for export. ' Store Sheep ■ and Lambs.—There was ° very large entry. and all classes met a spirited demand at full present rates. Prices ranged—Ewes 22s 4d 'to Its lid, for two to oightr tooth 10s Gd to 12s Bd, for full- , mouth and aged wethers 18s 4d to ~ Xss, lambs 15s 7d to 12s, merino wethers 13s. Pigs.—The entry was not large, but it -was more than equal to the demand, and prices all round were lower. Bacon pigs were sold at 36s i to 48s (equal to 3jd to 3Jd per lb tor approved weight and 3d for heir avy). porkers 26s to 35s (or 4d to t' per lb), large stores 20s to 33s medium 12s 6d to 18s, small 6s to ¥ 10s 6d.
