'l'he poor fellow's ribs were stove in in the region of it he heart, and his head also knocked about. At the inquest held this evening evidence was given that tile fall ol earth was due to what is known as a soapv head. The Insyojtor of Mines gave evidence that J# possible precautions li u d been taken, and the fatality was one of thoi.e unfortunate accidents incidental to mining. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
