STRATFORD v. NEW PLYMOUTH. j In magnificent wuather and on a perfect green a keen contest took ,place on Thursday afternoon on the local club's -ground. There was a lair number 01 visitors, and these as well as the players greatly appreciated the afternoon tea provided by the club. At one time the prospects |of victory lor the home club were anything but bright, Stratford being points ahead. This lead was, however, soon reduced to 7, but the visitors by capital play got away again, and led by 20. Ou the last two heads a great change took place, Ihe local men getting in some fine play, and eventually coming oft victorious by 128 to 114.
