Dairy cattle al- , so met a dull sale. The few good cows yarded sold up to £B, which may be taken as about the top price for milkers at present. Fat sheep.—There was a moderate entry, in which wethers predominated. The competition of butchers with importers made prices very firm at last week's level, and the current export values were in most cases exceeded. The range of ptfees was— Prime wethers 20s to 23s Id, lighter 18s 6d to 19s Gd, prime ewes 20s to 22s Gd, medium 57s to 19s (id, aged 15s to 16s (xJ, prinre merino wethers 1 18s 4d. Fat lambs.—There was a smyll entry, the weather having kept back distant consignments. The demand I was good, and the previous week's ' rates were maintained. Prime sold at 17s to 19s 9d, other 15s to IGs 1 Gd. Store sheep and lambs.—A good entry came forward and- met nc'ive demand. Breeding ewes and forward lambs sold part icularly well. Wei tiers were scarcely so firm. The principal sale; were :—Ewes at liis Sil to ' and smaller lota 15s 4d to 18s 1 lambs 15s Id. Pigs.—There was a very small entry, and ijwsiness was unimportant. T Reaping is general, with shortage in aggregate, but yield heavy. It. grade Danish rule at Is 9d, Tai-fars, Waverleys, and Roseberrys Is lOd, Gar tons and S-Bills Is 10>d. Duns and Canadians Is lid. Wheat.—Odd parcels of old Velvet and Tuscan, suitable for mixing, are changing hands at 3s Bd, R. Chart as Gd, with feeling that limits have been reached. Soarcity of fowl feed has advanced cost to 3s sd, Seconds 3s. Potatoes.—-New Whites have firmed to 9s Gd !)>i., reds 6s 6d, spread of disease contributing.
