'J'Jlli PHEMIEK COIiUK(."fs THE ■I'OST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. H. Under ihe heading of "Seddon v. Taylor," the Premier writes lo the editor of the Post this ewning as follows —Sir,—l'niler this headine ii|.|KMr.<l a leaning article in vimr columns of the Itli insl. The wholesome rule, with which you are fully familiar, strictly forbidding, as contempt of court, newspaper comments upon pending litigation, prevents „n\ notice of your reference to tlitrial, or to the conduct of its parties. T am, however, fnv to correct tile erroneous references ivspciling myself to which your article gives rise. I also believe and fe.-l ' sure that you would not knowinglv do mean injustice in the inalter. I sent to my friend and former colleague, Mr Keeves, that to which you refer. The information was not sent to him ollicially, or by me ' officially. 'i'he wending' of tie information was paid for me as a private citi/en. My right to send such information by cable, and which hud virtually appeared in every newspaper in the colony, is, of course, beyond question. If, indeed, as you say, it appeared in English news- i papers as from mo as Premier of this colony, my anuvier simply is that such publication as ollicial was the result of a misunderstanding, and was not authorised by me. Probably Mr Uceves was not in London to receive my message, and if it appeared us reported, this was problobly done in the absence of specific instructions.—Yours, etc., H. J. Seddon,
