TO THE RUPTUKED. [AN is safe from Rupture, no matter how insignificant he may consider it ; for every man who died from it, once flattered himself that .1 it was but a trifling ailment; and every man who now suffers from it and the injury of trusses to such an extent that his life has no njoyments, once regarded it as unworthy of special attention. Hemem ber itNi's not a standstill affliction ;it is steadily progressive even unto death, and he is wiso who takes the necessary steps to be effectually relieved of it before the day of suffering and gloom comes upon him. It should not be regarded in any stage with indifference, as serious cons-effluences may result from it at any time. lie should take warning from the example of others, and not meet with death through strangulated rupture, us Gibbon, the great English historian, did, notwithstanding his great foresight and talents. An opportunity is now granted to the sullcringvof procuring', the MOST RELIABLE TREATMENT KNOWN IN THE WORLD FOR THE RADICAL CURE OF RUPTURE. Cases of 10, 20, 30, and 40 years' standing have been cured by it, and thousands of persons have been restored to tlu. blessings of a sound body. This .treatment jvaa discovered and invented by DR. UNSOICITED TESTOMONIAL SENT. TO THE CHRISTCHURCH PAPER BY A WELL--KNOWN RESIDENT.. To the Editor. 24 ± Lower HigUt-street, Christchurcfi., APRIL 18th,, 1903, ir Sir,—Allow me, through the uuium of your, columns, to give y own experience regarding the I methods now before the public for the relief and cure of rupture. For iihn i^ s t twenty-live years I have suffrom a bad scrotal rupture on uiy, left sid<j. I tried every kind of euro that gave the faintest hope of relief,, but gradually got worse-. Twelve months ago 1 adopted a treatment wV:th an elastic truss, to be worn day and night, und a lotion to be rubbed in. I acted according to directions, but instead of it curing me I got worse under the treatment, the agony being something indescribable. While in this eploraWe condition the advertisettt of I)r J.. A Sherman's Method y eye in the papers)* and ■e weeks ago I consulted Mr Mar- „_ at the Clarendon Hotel. I am happy to say that there und then I found the relief I had been looking for. The appliance is tho iforatWe one I ever wore ; don't feel it on me. AlI feel (ruito a different man, ive enjoyed better healtg these .«ee£s than I havo done loirs. Hence you will see why I | appreciate Mi' Martin's services, and I feel it my 'duty to make this public declaration, tliati others affected .may know where to obtain relief, and avoid the delay and suffering from experiments', such as I for i on g years experienced. Apart from MiMartin's undoubted skill, as a specialist) in rupture, it lis a pleasure to add that he is one of the most .straightforward gentlemen I have | ever met.—l am, yours truly, < WILLIAM BAi'KS, ■ Furniture ManufaeiiiivrHeriot, December ffith, 1903.. Mr A'. : W. Martin, Dear Sir,-My four children trcal<M by you are all cured. One boy >, the girl, 8> years old, had «*n ruptured fro two years, another boy, 5 years old, ruptured since a by, anfl, the youngest, one and a ~~.1l years old, also ruptured since a buby, I say Dr, J. A, Sherman's method is a greait boon to humanity, as I am convinced that it is a certain cure for rupture. Yours gratefully, Mrs. wm. Mcdonald. Mornington, Dunedin, April 7th, 1904. Mi- A. W, Martin.; , Dear Sir,—lt gives me very great pleasure to let you know that I am keeping Air. I was ruptured about three and a half years ago, and foolishly neglected it for about 18 months;. The rupture had then broken right through and completely filled the scrotum. I went to my doctor, and he ordered me to wear a truss, so I went to the chemist and hud one adjusted ; but I might just as well have left it alone ; in fact, I suffered more pain, with it than 1 did without it. I was then told by the chemist that I would have to get one made especially to suit me, and I was sent to Mr Johnstone, the specialist. The special truss he made certainly supported the rupture, but it was heavy and cumbersome, and so close fitting that 1 transpired considerably;, and was kept uncomfortable. After wearing the above for about nine manths I read' your advertisement re the Dr. Sherman Method, and after my first interview with you I was forced to the conclusion that the Dr Sherman Method was by fan the most commonsense method that had come under my notice. I then went under this treatment, and I am' exceedingly t-hankful to bo able to say thai, my first conclusions have been fully substantiated by the results, and I am now a sound man. After having tried three different appliances I dan honesltly state that for safety, surety, and comfort, Dr. Sherman's Method is just the thing for anyone troubled with this common vet painful malady.' You are a perfect liberty to make what use of this you like,—Believe j.io to l,e, void's sincerely, ' ' W. it. HANNAH, Dunedin, April 18, 190-1. A welt-known accountant in Duncdvn who suffered agony ,'rom trusses ■writes; ,:r-" It gives me a great deal' of gratification to inform you that for the last four months my luotiire has -given me no trouble. I aiiinot wearing the appliances at all now, and just feel as I did before I was ruptured.. I must say that I am more than satisfied with yous method oi treatment,- and very grateful for the result..'- ' Waimatc}, May IS, 1904, ' Mr A, W, Martin, Dear Sir,—ln reply to your kind enquiry, I hardly know how to thank you for curing me of a very painful rupture by Dr. J. A. Sherman's Method. I left off wearing tho appliances three months ngoi, and I never foil better dn my life, not even before the affliction came upon me.. At odd times I put on the appliances as a safeguard when I take athletic exerpise, and it is so comfortable to wear. 1 tin sure I could not have been long for this world if I had not got your treatment, as the pain and torture of other trusses, of which 1 had many, were something cruel, and would kill any man in time. Your treatment is one to ho proud of and thankful for, and it will afford me great pleasure to meet sufferers and tell them how. pleased I was with it. You are at perfect liberty t 0 use this as you like.—l om> Yours' sincerely. W. F. GEORUE, Anderson's Bay, Dunedin, May a, 1904, Mr A. ; W. MARTIN. Dear Sir,— I hav'e much pleasure in informing yon that, after applying the Sherman treatment for over nine months, the rupture has entirely (disappeared. I take tho appliance off occasionally, but intend to wear it for three months longer, a a a. safeguard, I feel assured that at the .e IH i o;t thtt( . I have no hesitation in saying that the Sherman appliance is the best I have seen. -HUo elastic yms is not to be compared with ifPSt is comfortable to wear, simple and efficient. No sooner did 1 remove the truss than I found myself in a worse condition that I was before. Not orfly did the rupture again appear, feut Hhe opcraUion had so mutilated me that "the rupture was twice as large. From that time I wore trusses and trusses ; some aided me. as long as I kept in an upright position, while others were nothing short of a sweaty contrivance.
