(rer Tress Association.) WUNEDIN, Fob. 2. At the Bakers' Conference a delegate inquired if it was intended to usk the Government to regulate the pripe of Urenjd. Tho president replied in, tho negative. Mr Lourenson, M.11.11.,. said thut until the scale of rates, Urjd down at the last conference wus given u. fair trial they should not worry the Government. So far as Dunedin was concerned no increase wus anticipated meanwhile. '.They had been subjected to a good ileal of adverse criUcilsm through Ignorance. The output wus not the sumo us it had been years ago, consequently the cost of production had increased* Mr Bttdd said the scalo worked well in Tusmania. A committee was appointed to consider the matter.
It was resolved to conUnuc tho present scalo of prices as far a& practicable, namely, flour costing up to £7 a ton, bread to be sold for ■MI ; Iwtween £7 and £B, for si<i • between £8 and £9, for (ki • b©l tween £9 and £lO, for 6Jd ; between } V?., i 12 ' for 7 * d : between £l2 and £l3, for Bd.
