Among the dozen women who related, their matrimonial troubles to Mr Plowden at Marylebone recently was one who complained that her husband had locked her out of their room., and whenever she attempted to enter he banged the door in her face. Mr Plowilcn : Shall I s.'r.d a constable to ask him to abut jou'.»— lie wouldn't be at home. Well, why not dip in, thou ?—lie has put a padlock r.:i the door. Then why not wait until he re'turns and receive him nicely ?-No good ; We is sure to bang the door in my face. He is cross, I suppose. A husband without a smile ?—He's an old man of seventy,. And you—thirty ? (Laughter).—A litt'le more. " Oh, you can twist him round your little finger; but I will send a constable.
