The sugar season just closed (says she QiKtensJand Observer) will be memorable in the annals ol sugargrowing in Queensland as toeing the first season that our State has secured a £2,000,000 crop. Logan, and Albert, and other manufacturers had turned out over 00,000 tons of white sugar, worth in round figures £1,200,000. In addition the makers of raw sugar have handled 80,000 tons, worth £BBO,000- Although the weight of sugar has been exceeded in a previous year,, the higher prices now ruling will place the value of this season's crop fully £300..000 over any former record. Should the present ruling price of sugar be maintained to June 30th the bonus payments to growers on the basis of the C,.S.H. agreement, will amount to £2 5s per ton of the ItiglVCS't quality refined sugar. This is also a record, the previous highest bonus payment having been £1 19s 9;d per ton. A MOST HONOURABLE DISTINO.
