St. PETERSBURG, Jan. 21. An aged general, while sledging on Sunday towards the troops, was asked by the infuriated crowd, "Are you going to order the troops to fire on us ?" The general told the coachman to proceed. A well-dress-ed man struck him on the head, and he was then evicted from the sledge and beaten and trampled to death. Some advices state that the Imperial family is at Gatschina, a town thirty miles south-west of the capital. A party of marines in St. Petersburg on Sunday declined to fire on the crowd. M. PobiedonostzefT, Procurator of the Holv Svnod, is seriously ill. LONDON, Jan. 24. Russian stocks fell points on the lierlin Bourse; and the new loan is l quoted at SKSjj per cent.
