POLICE POWERLESS.
EXASPERATED PEOPLE'S DENUNCIATIONS. (Received Jan. 25, 10.15 p.m.) St. PETERSBURG, Jan. 25. The police at Koono (?Romen or Romny, a town north-west of Poltava, in Southern Russia) were powerless to prevent an overwhelming demonstration in denunciation of the St. Petersburg slaughter. Some public buildings were damaged. All factories and the railway workshops at Koono have stopped work.
