The secretary stated B that one insurance company had 1 "* v °ured factories in the past, but when other companies reduced'rates _ to the same level the directors had _ transferred their insurances to these c and afterwards the rates were raisj c<l - Factories therefore had themselves to blame. The motion was t, t ' lun ''ejected in favour of an amend--9 ment to give companies as well as i the Government Department an opt portunity to quote lower rates. r It was resolved to recommend the _ conterence in June to register the associal ion under the Unclassified Societies Act, and that all material t J or factories W'ithjn thy association _ be indented through the association. Mr Henderson (Henderson and v Uatger) sugges'ted the creation of _ exchanges in centres wherc buvurs could do business without visiting individual factories. The Chairman said the .matter was ■ n most important one, and would - bo noticed at the conference.
