Pork- ' era ande to 355, baconers t 0 575. ' . ! ADMS6TON STOCK MARKET. , CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 18. I At the Addingtun market the fat cattle yarded comprised 201 head, ' and wore of good quality. Business # was extremely -dull, butchers appearing not t» want 'beef, and many lots of good cattle wcro passed without a bM. Prices consequently fell 10s to £1 a head, and cattle sold went at the rate of 20s to 21s per 1001b for good to prime beef, and 17s (id to 19s for mfcrior to medium. The prices current were :—Steers £6 17s 6d to £9 10s, heifers £5 7s 6d to £7 ss, cows £5 to £7 12s fld. Fat sheep.->-The supply was moderate in numbers and consisted chiefly of ewes of medium to prime sutuality. The sale went well, and there was no quotable change from last week's values. Butchers were Uhe principal operators. The prices realised were -.-Wethers 19s to 23s 2d, prime heavy ewes 19s to 21s 3d, medium ewes 16s to 18s 6d. Pigs.—All classes were well represented, and 'business generally was better than at the last two or three sales. There was little improvement in the price of kaconers and porkers, but stores were dearer. Haconers sold at 3fa fld to 33s 6d (equal to 4d to *}d per Hi) ; porkers 28s to 358 (or-4Jd to 4-Jd per lb) ; stores (largef to 325, medium 16s to 20s, small 9s to 14s. GRAIN REPORT. WELLINGTON, Jan. 18. Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zjealand and Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations beins; f.o.b. port of shipment, sacks extra, unless specified. Oats.—Harvesting- is late, resultin a hardening for old stocks. Surplus carried over is not excessive and holders are confident of advance being maintained. Rulings values are prohibiting export, B grade Danish listing at Is 85d, Gartons and SBfHs Is 9ti, Roseherry and Tartars Is 9id, Dubs and Cnaadians Is lOd, rejects Is fid. Wheat.—Nothing of imiiorlancc is transphriag, millers being content on filling immediate requirements only. Foreign reports are everywhere healthy, ami 'growers will have to cease present costs to participate in eutside trade for coming season. Velvet and Tuscan is hold for 3s Bd, Hunters 3s 7d, G.W.F. wheat, active at 3s 2d, seconds 2s 9d. Potatoes.—White table are plentiful, round returning 9s 6d b.i., kidneys 14s b.i. Shipments to Australia are not unlooked for this reason, and keepers will lie good stock. Maisic.—Small deliveries of ?Corth are quickly exhausted at 2s 7d s.i. Barley.—Less area! under cultivation is causing early inquiry for new grain, malting firming to 3s 6d. Feed is dull at 2s 2d, Cape 2s 4d, pearl £l3 b.i., pig-meal £5 s.i. Beans.—Field crushors are worth 3s 2d ».i., with small turnover. Peas.—Y-Hcrocs call foe 6s 6d, Partristgc 3s lOd, blue boilers overstocked 3s 6d, split peas £l4 b.i. Bran is more- plentiful at £3 5s si. Pollard.—Output is not Fn keeping wits, consumption, bare stocks tinning, price to £4 los s.i. Oatmeal has adijanced in svinpathy with oats to £9 Ids f.0.b.5.i., for 25's, and probably higher. Rolled oats £l2 e.i.f.s.i. .Chaff.—New cut is offering at 7'7s 6ds.i. South, and 85s s.i. HOMEBTJSH SALES. SYDNEY, Jan. 19. At the Homcbush sales sheep were unchanged, crossbreds being in small supply. Best wethers 16s to 18s 3d, los to los (kl, bjest ewes 15s to 17b. Cattle showed a decided adIvancc. Best bullocks £9 15s to £lO 'lss, good'£B 10s, best cows £7 10s to £8 lis, good £6 10s. Beef averaged 23s per 1001b. HIDES AND TALLOW. MF.LBOFRNE, Jan. 19. Hides.—Competition .was brisk and prices for all sections exhibited an advancing tendency. New Zealand louts made fijd to 7d, heavies 5d 0 5Jd, average and medium to Od. tallow. —The demand was dull, at ate rates. WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, Jan. 19. The week's wool sales closed very fiim and animated at fully late rate's. Scoured and crossbreds were especially strong. I CHIUSTCIII'RCH, Jan. 19. ".'he third series of wool sales for jthe season was held to-day, all but star lots being disposed of. By 11 o'clock to-night 20,-1-14 bales were dialogued. The wool generally jvas in good condition and wellI' rown.
