I CAMP OF INSTRUCTION. The worK indulged in yesterday was mostly on outpost. In the morning the Guards were driven to the range tor volley-firing. At migiht, after drill, Captain Robertson, H.E., gave a lecture on fortifications. The camp has now settled down into a very orderly state. The approach of one or two men some time during the early morning iu a manner not laid down in the drill book lauded half a dozen men iu an interview with the colonel, and incidentally also in the unwilling expenditure of half ap dozen crown pieces. The. privilege of serenading, at five shillings a head, is not likely, however, to come into general favour amongst the men. It is still open, it, is understood, for the real culprits(to save their comrades from the discredit attaching to their present position, and it is to be hoped they (fivill do so, for the credit of he corps and themselves-.
