Louise of Saxony.

The former Crown Princess Louise arrived at Dresden unexpectedly on December 22nd, accompanied by a lawyer. She proceeded to Tesc'henberg ralace, and asked to be permitted to see Ikt child. Permission, however, was peremptorily refused, and the rrincess announced lier intention of leaving Dresden the same afternoon. King Frederick Augustus, who is on a shooting excursion, was informed of the arrival of his former wife. The Princess voluntarily left the cilty in the afternoon for Leipsic. An immense cheering crowd escorted her to the railroad station. The rrincess, who had 'Written to the King that unless he granted her oft-repeated request to see her children she would attempt to see them without permission, arrived at Dresden unexpectedly from Vienna with a woman companion. She went to the Hotel Bellevue, where she was immediately recognised. The police were informed, and then the Ministry sent a telegram to the King at Pilnitz, who directed that she should not be arrested unless she became violent. The Princess went alone to 0110 of the entrances of the Palace on Theatre Square at nine o'clock' in the morning, dressed in mourning. A lieutenant of the police saluted the % Princess, and told her <juicily thai it would be impossible for her to enter the palace. The former Crown Princess stood on the steps trembling, and a few guards and policemen who surrounded her thought she was about to fall. The Princess recovered herself somewhat, and said three or f four times: "Please let 1110 see my , children." The lieutenant replied ; that his orders were perenjptorv and : offered to walk with her to the. Ho- . Tel Bellevue. She said that would . not be necessary, bin he walked l>y . her side across Theatre Sq-um-e I The Princess sent a letter to the r L'ourt Marshal asking if she could i visit her children, and aTter receiving an answer in the negative she left Dresden ill the next train. lic sympathy runs in favour of the retpiest of the Princess to see her children once a year, as tile Orman law provides in the case of mothers divorced for most flagrant offences.
