GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. Coifcols, 88} ; New South Wafles 3J per cents, 98; Victorian 3J per -Cents, 96J- ; Queensland 4 per cents, 105; rest unchanged. THE MONEY MARKET. The market rate of discount for Besl three months bills is 2} per cent. THE PRICE OF METALS. Copper.—Spot £6B 12s 6d, three months £69,: Tin.—Spot and three mouthy £l3l •k 15s. Iron, £l9 7». Lead, £l2 18s 9d. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE Butter.—Steady trade ; Australian | and New Zealand practically cleared. Prices are unchanged exdept for a lew fancy brands. Australian, 100s, New Zealand 102s, Danish (weak) 108s. Cheese.—Very firm ; New Zealland 52s to 539. Sugar—Strong. First rnaiKs 17s fid. German 16s, Bradford wool market is quiet and unchanged pending the opening of the London wool gales. ■ The wheat markets are recovering ' from the holiday inactivity, with a tone steady. Owing to smalller shipments the prices hava improved about 3d. Cargoes are quiet and holders firm, asking 33s for passage shipments.
