The. annual meeting in connection with the Unity .Tent, 1.0. K., was held in the Foresters' Hall on Tues- " day evening, when the following brethren and sisters were elected to the undermentioned oilices : Chief Killer, Bro. J. Buttimoro ; D. Kuler, Sister J. Cole ; treasurer, Ilro. J . 'l'. White (re-elected) ; secretary, l!ro. , J. Whitaker (re-elqcttd) ; Levite, llro ' llorschead ; cash steward, Ilro, A. Saddler ; book steward, llro. I'. Hopkins ; guardian, ilro. T. Frewin; auditors, liros. tioodacre ami T. U. Sole; trustee, Bro.. A. Cole (re-elec-ted), l'ast Chief Killers' emblems, beautifully framed, were presented to Bros. E. Edgecombe and B. Clark. B.C. Kuler Bro. K. C. Hughes was present, and gave a very interesting account of the growth of the Um , perance movement in Engtlnnd, speaking in the highest terms of the work of the Kev. .Leonard Isitt, who has been lecturing in the Old Country for several years. " , The work of the year was reviewed, and showed satislactory progress. One new member was initiated, ami there are not lacking signs of very great activity being display- , ed during the present year. The hi- ' ennia! Council meeting will be held in Dunedin next month, and Bros. .1. T. White, B. Clark, and' Hopkins will represent the local tent. The secretary of the tent, Bro. J. Whitaker, is the District Chief Kuler, and will preside at the conference. Much interest is being shown in the forthcoming Council, as a scheme for amalgamating|; the whole of the branches in New 'Zealand will be brought forward. ,
