Struck by a Passing Train.
SYDNEY, Dec. 28. The city coroner yesterday, with a jury of six, helidl an inquest on the body of Francis llodieii, aged 64, a Frenchman by birth, who was found in » shattered condition on the railway line at Hurstvilie station on Monday night, and who died in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital a few hours after being taken there. He was stated to be a man of sober habits, but waa feeble about the legs, and ho appeared to have wandered on to the railway line, and to have been struck down by a passing train. His figure was seen lying on the ground in the darkness by some of tho railway employees, who picked him up, and endeavoured to elacft from hilm what had happened, but failed to do so. His widow said he had left his home to tako a walk 1.0 Lady Robinson's Beach, a mile from where he it was that he got to HurStvijMe was not clear. When he was discovered on tho railway track he was lying about 6tft from the outer rail. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death, caused by the man having been struck by a passing l train.
