DROPPED DEAD, London, Jan. 2.—The Australian stallion Aberdeen dropped dead in Ireland. WRECKAGE CAST ASHORE, Wellington, Jan. 3.—Portion of a yacht with the word "Hope" painted on it was washed ashore at Houghton Bay", near Island Bay, tonight. No yacht bearing this name is Known in Wellington. OAMARU BAND CONTEST, Oanjaru, Jan. 3.—The following are the results of the band contest under the auspices of the Caledonian Society.
