A YACHTING FATALITY.
Tbree Lives Lost at Wellington Heads. (Per Press Association,) WELLINGTON, Jan. 2. A yachting mishap occurred off l'cncarrow Head, at the entrance to Wellington Harbour, to-dny, whereby ithrco young men lost their lives. Their names are Noel Wilson and his brother, sons of Mr Alex. Wilson, partner in the firm of -Macdonald, Wilson, and Co., and Hugh Braralcy, a clerk in the firm's office. The three tieceased left Wellington during the Christinas holidays in the small yacht Tc Arohn, to cruise in the Marlborough Sounds. They sailed from Picton yesterday, exacting to reach Wellington this ufternoon. H'heir boat was seen this morning for some hours by the signalmen at tho Heads, knocking about in the heavy sea, with a fresh breeze prevailing. At about noon the yacht commenced to run in, but immediately afterwards a big wave swept over her, ait, and tho craft seemingly sank like a stone. The crew wcro seen in the water for some time uftorwards clinging to the wreckage. One of them kept afloat for fully fifty minutes. He was then about 100 feet off the north end of Barrett's Reef.
