(Per Press Association.) IVEI,LJX(!T()N, Jlec. 29. It is very protobie that new developments will shortly take place in regard to the Porirua Trust funds. The matter received some attention at the welcome to the Hon. lluia Onslow at Otaki on Wednesday, when - Ln "era'. natives voiced tilinr grievacces. The Premier, in replying, asked : Why shoukl not a college be established at Papawai ami another at Otaki ? He blamed the natives !or the laxity, they had displayed over the matter till Bishop Wn'llis drew attention to the failure to give clTect to the'donors' wishes. Jle said the natives in the end would benefit iliy the Bishop's judgment.
Mr Field, M.11.ii., states that a requisition was presented to the Premier by himself and other members asking for the appointment of a commission to impiire into the whole matter before the ctk! of the session and that the commission will probably be soon appointed. Messrs Field and J lone, l leke attended a meeting of natives at Otn'ki to-day, when the Maoris signified j their approval of the suggested movement.
