The Wairarapa Daily Times states that the Rev. A. D. Thomson, Pies>byteriap minister, of Martinibiorough, will shortly lesign in older to proceed to Canada.
The Hon. . as McOowan, Minister for Mimes, vho came up from Wellington on Monday night, stayed in New Plymouth, going North by Tuesday's steamer. Hjs visit here was of a semi-buainesß character, various minor matters appertaining to the departments under his control |l|eing attended to. Mr McGowan, who is accompanited by Mr Matthews, private secretary, after attending the unveiling 0 f the Grey statue, spends Christmas at the Thames, and then goes on a tour through the Northern miniiing districts.
