Prices were about Is per head lower at the beginning, but improved to about -equal to last week. Best wethers 22a fid to 245, medium 20s to 21s 6d, light 18s (5d to 19s 9d, best ewes 19s 6d to 21s, extra prime to 245, medium 18s 3d to 19s 3d, light 16s 6d to 17s fid. ! Fat lambs.;— 378 were penned, comprising a good proportion of prime. Best 14s 9d to 15s (id, medium 12s fid to 14s 3d. light 10s Gd to 12s. Fat cattle. —196 head were yarded. There was a drop in price of from 15s to 20s per head. Best bullocks £9 17s (id to £lO 10s, medium £8 15s to £9 15s, light £7 10s to £8 10s, best 'heifers £6 5s to £7 10s, medium £5 10s to £6 2s 6d, light £4 10s to £5 ss. Pigs.—l 26 penned. Suckers were in capital demand, and prices for these were decidedly better. Other classes sold at last week's rates. Suckers 14s fid to 17s, slips 17s fid to 21s fid, stores 22s to 26s 6d, porkers 27s to 355, light baconers 36s to 445, heavy do. 45s tv 535, choppers up to 61s.
DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET. DI'NEDIN, Dec. 7. "Wheat. Prime milling 3s 7d to 3s Bd, medium 3s 3d to 3s sd, good whole fowl feed 3s to 3s Id ; sacks extra. Oats.—Good inquiry for all sorts, and as stocks are low prices are hardening. Prime milling Is 7d to Is ftd, good to lies I feed Is 5d to Is GJd, inferior and -medium Is 2d to Is 4d ;• sacks extra.
