Timaru Hospital.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND CONSUMPTION.
(Per Prow Assodatloi). TIMARU, Deo. 7. The Hospital Board to-day had ■' conference with Drs. Mason and Finch regarding the infectious diseases hospital and provision for' consumptives. In regard to tho for. mer the question was as to the area to be included in tho contributing district. Members differed about including the Waimate and Mackenzie counties, and by tho casting vote of the chairman a resolution was caK i-ied that nil the South Canterbury district should be included. It-was stated that the matter will he closely contested before a magistrate. In regard to consumptives. Dr. Mason recommended provision connected with the Timnru hospital, and also at Waimate, as an independent sanatorium would be too expensive. Finally it was agreed that Dr. Finch, District Health Offlcor, nnd the resident surgeon see if a suitable site for the annexe at Tfmaru is available.
