CREATES A DIVERSION AT CHRISTCHURCH.
(Per Press Association.) CHBISTCIIUHCH, Bee. 7. The town and country issue was very much to the fore at the statutory meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoards to-day. The country members bad secured a majority at the election on each board, and it is alleged had cut and dried the election of officers and councillors and oil.. >• routine matters. They rolled up in force, and carried their preconceived programme, despite the vigorous protests of thu town members. On the Charitable Aid Board they elected a country venerable as chairman, and decided to meet every six weeks, instead of monthly, limited the main committee to seven members instead of the whole board, and put a majority of country members on the new committee thus constituted. Tho meeting was a lively a~hd prolonged one, and about live o'clock tl\e couptry members announced that they oould wait no longer, and carried an adjournment to oreler to en/tch their itrains,
