DIX'S ENTERTAINERS, True to promise, air Dix is sending one of his famous companies to entertain our readers, and on this occasion we are to have what lie himself describes us "one of his best endeavours." There is no doubt that it has become |quitc the rage throughout the colony to attend what used to be called "variety" entertainments. The term hardly applies now, as Mr Dix has elevated the standard of this class of amusement to such n high- point that now-a-days it appeals to all classes of the community, from our Vice Regal representatives and tho Government of the day to the poor- I est peasant and the most humble inhabitant. In short, the "please- i all" policy has succeeded, and whole- I some, light entertainment, combined . with good music, have come to stay, i The present company includes the Cathedral Choristers, Miss Ly)a i Thompson, Mr Leslie WnrtOß, air I Geo. Warsaw, Mr Geo. Dickie, ami j The Wheelers. The company ap- 1 pears at the Theatre Royal on Fri- j day, the 9th.
