Fire at Waverley.
SEVERAL BUILDINGS DESTROYED.
A big fire broke out at VVaverlcy at 3.80 on Saturday morning. There was no wind, or the consequences would have Hyepti far more serious. The Wanganui Herald reports that the lire totally destroyed the premises of H. Soutiicombe (general storekeeper), Stan Wall (hairdresser, etc), and C. Lyons (tailor). Mathieson (land agent), and the Clarendon Hotel had a narrow escape, [being slightly chaired. All arc insured, but far under their values.
