fered Home annoyance on account of the way I referred to his horse in my notes laat Thursday in connection with the Lepperton Stakes at the Waitara meeting. What I intended to convey was that as the horse was nominated for three races it was possible that be might be scratched for one of them, but that if he did start for the Lepperton Stakes he would lie worth backing. I should like to assure the owner of Cairngorm that I had no idea whatsoever of reflecting upon the manner in which his horse is run. That will be seen by my reference to Cairngorm in the Welter, in which it was stated that he had raced very consistently since the beginning of the season. Although he did not start in this event my good opinion of him was justified by the way he won the Flying.
