AUSTRALIA'S RETURN VISIT DECIDED. SYDNEY. Nov. 11. The Cricket Association has cabled the Marylebone Club formally accepting its invitation to send a team to England. The Carrington Road seniors journeyed to Inglewood on Wednesday, j and suffered defeat by the home team by 37 runs on the flrsi innings. Inglewood going in first put up 97, Crombie getting top score with 26. Carrington Road responded with 57, P. McEwen 13 and G. T. Bayley (not out) 14, being the only ones to reach double figures. In the second innings Inglewood made 79 (Hcv. Reeves 32), leaving Carrington Road 116 to win. At the call of time Carrington Road had 100 for 5 wickets, Fred Robertson (not out) 53 and Perham 24, doing the scoring. Crombie, late of Wellington, is a great help to the Inglewood team, both as a batsman and a bowler. It is to be hoped Inglewood will have their ground in better order for future matches. The wicket was very treacherous owing to holes in the pitch, and the (jutfield, owing to the long grass, was u big handicap to the visitors. The juniors defeated the New Plymouth junior A team by 44 runs. For the winners H. McEwen 36, Hennessy 22. Tribe 32 and W. McEwen 20 reached double figures. For Jfew Plymouth W. On Wednesday the New Plymouth Cricket Club journeyed to Urenui to play the local team, suffering de feat by six wickets. In the first innings New Plymouth made 37, and in the second 49, Lightihamd being the only man to reach double figures. Urenui's first venture resulted in-42 : runs; the 48 required to wittiMJing gained with the loss of fourwicEets in the second innings. A Spurr (21) and C. Wilson (10) were the top scorers. In bowling Schofield five for 19, and four for 20 was the mainstay f o r the country club, Braund six for 11 and two for 13 doing good servise for the visitors.
In the junior grade New Plymouth B team put through the Inglewood team by 53 to 29, Dickson, not out 18, being the highest scorer.
