The actual cost of the work on the F&tea breakwater so iar, after ideducting materials, is £10,967. The Corinna is due here from Piinedin and way ports to-morrow. Her cargo .for this port totals 306' tohs. The steamer leaves for Wellington;on ■ Monday witrt TSOO boxes of butter for tranahuilmtpt to the'Athenic. The Government steamer Hinenjoa arrived ut the breakwater early yesterday nionlmg from-Kaipai-a. She was to leave for Onehunga early this morning with the servants, hories, and -carriages of the Governor's party. Mr J. H. Hempton, Collector ol Customs, received word from the Marine Department last evening requesting him to ask masters of vessels leavingl New Plymouth and Waitara to keep a look-out for signs of the scow Hoonga, now 49 days out from Dunediu to Herekino, north : of Hokiangft. Owing to the unusually thick Weather prevailing along the Coast yesterday the Rotoiti, from New Plymouth, was unable to pick up the Manukau Heads until 3.30 in the afternoon. She berthed at Onehunga at 5 o'clock, and was to get away at 5 o'clock this morning for New Plymouth, whence she sails on the return trip north at the übuu! time to-nighta " ■■■«
