Tho weather was cloudy, with a strong wind, for the second day of the Monawatu show, hut the attendance was very satisfactory. Hort svs, sheep, and cattle were judged to-day. H. Orise's Nestor was awarded tht} championship in, thoroughbreds, and H. McDonald's Lord Kkkl.siie was champion in draughts. Shorthora cluiinpionshipa were won by the Mount Herbert ■Estate in each instance ; Hereford championship (bull) toy E. Short, and (cow) D. 1\ Uucluumn ; Polled An» gu» (bull) J. J. Campbell, (cow, not. yet awaided) ; Ayrshire (bull) 8. W. Luxford, (cow) J. Kyle; (bull) J. McCroa, (cow) A. Buchanan.
The Government Kerry cattle wtra <>n the ground and attracted great attention.
