(Per Press Assoolntlon). WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. At a mooting of the Council of the Churches this owning the following resolution was passed : "That this Council, while regretting that the Referendum Bill has been weakened by thu inclusion of the provision that a poll shall not be taken on tho day of a general elootion, thanks; tho Premier for tho fulfilment or h"ls promise to carry tho measure through the Houso of Representatives, and respectfully urges the legislative Council to pass the bill so that the wlshts of the people of the colony on the subject of Bible lessons in public schools may be dsflnittly «*c»rt*lpe4."
