Sections.—Model Band of Hope Oral Addresses. Not to exceed 12 minutes in -delivery. Open to all classes. Section 6.—lmpromptu Essay. To be written on premises. Subject to be announced by chairman. All competitors must be members of some Band of Hope at date of Contest. 2. Prizes will bo given as follows* provided 50 per cent, of marks are scored Ist, for three competitors, Ist and 2nd for five ; Ist, Ond, and 3rd for seven or more. 3. Pianoforte Music (short pieces), to be selected by Musical Committeo. Time for practice allowed from October 17th. 4. Three additional points will be given if readings and recitations are of a distinct temperance character. Claimants for these points must supply title of piece to Secretary when entering, and no alteration in piece allowed afterwards. 5. Judges awards are final, and will be announced at close of competition. All entries, together with entrance fees, must reach the Secretary, J. Christopher, before 9 p.m., SATURDAY, Novemiber 12th. Letters bearing post mark of that date will be accepted. 7. In Section 2 competitors must supply one copy of their music for judges' use before they perforin.
