MI! HAHKY RICKAHDS' VAUDEVILLE COMPANY. This evening Mr Hickord?' specially selected Vaudeville Company will commence a two nights' season at the Theatre lioyul. In consequence of the lute arrival of the steamer "Wtßtrnlia" from Sydney, in which Miss Maud .Bcutty, ,Mr J. W. Winton, and Mr Will Van Allen were pass>.nger», the management regrets that it will be impossib|le for those artists to appear in the programme this evening. A telegram has been received from Auckland saying that they will bo passewgers per '■' Roto J iti," due to arrive here to-morrow morning, so that all will most positively appear at the Theatre Koyal to-morrow (Wednesday.' evening. The strength of Mr Itickards' present comUnation happily enables them to present a very strong programme this evening, and old theatre-goers will gladly welcome once more such sterling favourites as Miss Ada Delroy, Mr James Bell, Mr Edward Ford, and Mr Arnold Phil, whilst among the new faces for public approval will bo found the Smith Sisters, two clever song and dance artists, Miss Maggie Eraser, "Australia's Society IBntertaimer," Mr George Bontley, the quaint, eccentric comedian, and others.

One of the most pleasing items on the programme will bo the new secies of animated pictures which Mr Rlckards recently imported from the Palace Theatre, London, anil a'e now seen hero for the first time. The. series to-night will depict "'Canadian Salmon Fishing," showing the various processes from the time the fish is euiicjht/ unUiil) it is tinntfi ; "A Daring Daylight Rob|bery and Capture l)j:: tho Police" is bowmd tp be popular, and "A Trip up the River Thames" will show the majority of the Ijcauty spots to be found "up the liver." Altogether a most enjoyable evening's entertainment is prepared for patrons of the Theatre Hoyal to-night.
