DELIVERY OF THE STATE BUDGET. INCOME-TAX PROPOSALS. i ' BRISBANE,' Oct. 7. The Budget shows revenue £3,59ft--000, and expenditure £3,607,000, leaving a deficit of £12,000. The estimated revenue for the current ■year is the same as the revenue received . last year, and the expenditure £3,592,000. The large Continuous decrease in the amount returned by the ,Commonwealth is a subject for much concern. It is proposed to re-enact the income tax, with an. exemption of £IOO, making a fixed impost of £1 on salaries between £IOO and £l4O, and then making them subject to £SOO graduated increase beyond that.
